new artist to join the LISA Gallery, Va'a leads us into a poetic universe of ‘organized scribbling’.
It is in homage to her brother who made Polynesian canoes in Tahiti, where she lived, that Hélène chose this artistic pseudonym.
Since childhood, ‘Va'a’ has always drawn. After a BAC Philo with Arts option, she humbly admits that she has never taken a drawing course because she lets herself be carried away by her ‘automatic artistic gesture’ when she starts a face, a body, a silhouette. Drawing has always been his passion, first the pencil and then the ‘bic’ pen, his favourite tool.
The faces she particularly loves are part of her soul and the many expressions to which she gives birth are part of her universe.
Its goal is to capture an emotion as the pen strokes unfold and put it down on paper.
