It is because his name was too complicated to spell that Mr. Z decided to keep only the first or last letter!
Mr Z studied at the Estienne School - Ecole Supérieure des Arts et Industries Graphiques in Paris, then a DESS in computer graphics. He works as an artistic director for advertising, then works in the press. Among other things, he participates in the magazines Monsieur and Wallpaper*
Having become independent, Mr. Z creates colourful, refined illustrations inspired by the design, architecture and styles of the 1930s to 1970s. He created several animated TV series such as Ratz, Jet Groove broadcast on France 2 or the animated cartoon Razmo & Rapido currently broadcast every morning on Gulli. He participates in the production of advertisements, on television or in magazines, in France and in other countries: L'Oréal, AirFrance, BMW, café Swiss Delice, animation for Evian, Guess, Malabar, Quick, TGV. . . He also created the new design of the mascot of Warner Music Group, the cover of De Phazz's ‘Death By Chocolate’ album as well as the credits of the film ‘Mensonges et trahisons - et plus si affinités’ by Laurent Tirard with Edouard Baer.
The exhibition for the inauguration of the LISA Gallery is not a retrospective of Mr Z's work. We wanted to offer you the sketches and some of his illustrations (design, architecture and even sexy!) that go far beyond his known creations, whether for the tourist offices of the region where he revisits the most beautiful panoramas of the French Riviera in the style of the great poster designers or for commercial product campaigns.
Mr Z has therefore quite naturally created a series of illustrations for Galerie LISA that you will discover exclusively. . . Just like the invitation to the journey of the jet that signs all his creations, Mr Z invites you through this exhibition, the first of its kind, to (re)discover his other world!
